An ancient tomb in Asagiri

Welcome to “Iyashi” “Nagomi” secret spot and sightseeing in countryside of Japan !

 

Today, I’m gonna introduce this ancient tomb to YOU !

We call it “Oni-no-kama kofun”

“Oni” means “a kind of Japanese devil” and “kama” means “caldron(rice cooker)”

It locates in a rice field near by town road.

These are description of this tomb.

 

Let me explain !

This round shape tomb is made of stones and built in end of 6th century.

It has diameter of 11 meters, 4.5 meters high.

Like a cave…

Do you want to go in ?

Of course you can’t as a general rule.

But if you want to do so strongly, please ask the town office for it.

This big tree stands like a gatekeeper !

Far in the distance, you can see Mt.Ichifusa which is profoundly honored all resident in this area.

Someday, you’ll come back here and enjoy “ancient trip” again.  See you !
